The Lord is good !
Everyone has their own conversion story. I look back and am still amazed how GOD seems to work things out against the odds. I was 20 yrs old with no particular beliefs at all. I was in the navy aboard an aircraft carrier wich was off the coast of Viet nam. I worked in the boiler room where the average tempurture was 130 degrees. I had been working 4 days without sleep. I was near the edge & believed I was near death. I snuck off to a tool room & prayed. Last straw Lord please either save my life or take it. Less than an hour later I snapped. I came very close to taking another man's life. GOD not only prevented that but seen to it that I was sent back to the states. It was almost 3 yrs. before I was introduced to the church. GOD was someone I hardly knew of let alone believed in. Now I am so thankful that he reached across that gulf between him & I. I now reach for GOD now with a lively hope but I reached for him then with none. Don't give up when things seem impossible. It appears it is then when he does his best work. Thank you Lord! From bro. I always love hearing conversion stories it always reminds me of my own and that we were all on a similar path that leads us to the same place.
I have to agree with Jackie, I too love hearing conversion stories. They bring back so many wonderful memories for me!
What a wonderful testimony! I knew who God was because my Mom took me to many different churches, but we'd go a few weeks and then she'd try a different one. By the time I was a teenager she gave up searching but told me to keep looking. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to even be looking for but when the Lord drew me to the Faith all I knew was that I finally felt home and I've never felt the need to search again. Thank you so much for sharing your story!

I feel sorry what experience you had in navy and also feeling good that now you are in good position.
~*Cheers*~.. and not just how God works, but the ability to look back, in points of time I personally thought were the end of my life... and the one huge negative created more positives than I have fingers!
