Unexpected Company

A sister and I were talking the other day about if any one invited a couple of visiting brethren home for dinner after church. How we both felt guilty on this. Now this is where hospitality comes in.I use to do this but have become lazy in this area of my life.

Now if we knew they were coming that is different. We would have already made plans.
But we love any time some brethren visit unexpectedly at church or home.So we were trying to come up with fast meals .We understand how allot of people are really hungry after church. So here is a list of what we come up with.

1)Vegetable Soup
2)Hamburgers
3)Hot Dogs
4)Chili
5)Taco's
6)Spaghetti
So if you could give us any ideas we would love it.

I have had to make dinner in a pinch for many people before..I use our chicken noodle recipe (you know, the one with cream of chicken, cream of celery, stick butter, package of egg noodles, can of chicken broth, salt/pepper, AND THEN I use a large can of chicken instead of boiling and pulling a whole chicken! saves like 2 hours! Double that and you have a big pot done in a half hour or less! I ALWAYS keep these ingredients in the pantry for such occasions! Cut up some bread and your set!

ps..thank you for your sweet comments to me..i love you so much

In a pinch I'll go by the local store, (which is on the way home) and pick up some chicken, (which is really cheap). Then I'll just cook some veggies, bread and butter, and if I have any pickles or whatever. My husband's aunt would make up sweet breads like banana or zuchini, and freeze them. Then whenever company showed up, even just for an evening visit, she'd get one or two out, and thaw it out.

Sis. Stubby! I dreamed I was at your house and in church meeting with you! It was a nice dream and I will think about it all day today. At one point I was talking to someone there in the dream and I noticed my voice didn't have your cute accent... Once time I asked someone from Oklahoma if we Oregonians had an accent and she said that we just sounded very prim and proper with our voice, pronouncing every word exactly! And back to your subject... Chili Dogs and french fries with carrot stix can be made very quickly!

It is always good to be prepared for company. I...am not usually prepared, but I need to be, because we LOVE having company! It sounds like you have a lot of good menu items that are fast, easy and feeds many people :) Soups are great for the winter comign up :)
